The contents of my pictures are not being displayed.

I used to be able to see the content of my pictures in a folder so that I knew which one I could edit without opening it first. Now all I see are the generic thumbnails.
What do I need to do to see the picture itself rather than thumbnails in a folder view?

Go to Control Panel and select "Folder options".

Now go to View tab and make sure "Always show icons, never thumbnails" option is not enabled i.e. its disabled.

If the option is enabled, uncheck the checkbox and click on Apply button.
