    Change of Picture Size

I have bought a Panasonic DMC-TXZ30 camera to replace my old Samsung WB720.

I mainly use my camera to post photographs on my blog. I have experienced a problem which I don’t understand. I transfer my photograph to Publisher to add graphics and text.

To prepare the photographs for the blog I reduce the pixels from 4320x3240 to 800x600 using Microsoft Office Picture Manager

With my Samsung this would give me a photo which fit the Publisher template 22.016 x 17.254cm perfectly

However when I do it with the Panasonic the photograph is about one quarter of the size of the Samsung one. I then have to enlarge it to fit the template, and I lose detail.

The only difference I can see in the properties of the two photographs is that the Samsung photo is 72 dpi and the Panasonic one is 180 dpi.

Can anyone tell me how I can change this dpi number?

Can you offer any suggestion to overcome this problem?

    Hi and welcome to Sevenforums,
I doubt the dpi/ ppi setting is effecting the resize,
I but this setting is usually in the cameras settings,
Along with the megapixel setting which is probably what you should compare between caneras,

Office picture Manager isn't the best resize program in the world but if it worked okay in the past I would also look closer at the exact file type the new camera is producing this could be a hybrid jpg and not a regular jpg image,
Otherwise if you have a new camera you might just need to tweak your resize size in OPM instead of changing any settings,
dpi/ ppi only applies to printing not resizing or simply viewing so I keep reading
Although higher dpi/ ppi images do look quite a bit better,
    Cheers.
