WMP setup - LOL I thought it was just me - seemed to happen after the last patch Tuesday, so maybe an update.

I'm not sure if WMP can rotate a video, but VLC can - see snip

    1. on 2 different windows 7 machines, I got the setup screen recently. I just clicked recommended settings and WMP now opens straight to video

2 on my computers, the WMP versions are :
    Windows 7 Pro - 12.0.7601.18526
    Windows 8.1 Pro - 12.0.9600.17031

can't find any rotate setting in either 7 or 8.1, although if I had a movie that needed rotating (say 90 degs) , I'd use a video editor. I downloaded a clip recently that was flipped horizontal, but I fixed it with After Effects.
