    Removing a dvd

How do I delete a dvd from my Window 7. The dvd has pictures, of course, on it, but I am afraid that if I delete the dvd I will lose the pictures.

I use Window DVD maker and most of the time I get the pictures from my Photo Gallery.

I do remove the pictures first before attempting the deletion of the dvd, but the pictures I had removed from the dvd I want to get rid of always reappear.

I know I am doing something wrong, but I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. Help is appreciated.

You can only delete files on DVD if the format of it is DVD-RW. "RW" stands for "Re-Writable", while DVD-R is only for read only and you can't delete the files on it, but you can physically destroy the CD till it's not readable on computers.

You can, on both formats, copy out the contents before deleting/destroying it.

As skyred has stated Carole the alternative is to put the pics onto a stick. Personally I would be doing that before mucking around with disks and the only time I use disks so to make a bootable one ie ISO's, rescue disks, repair disks etc
