Folders that have files in them say that they are empty

Recently, some folders have started showing that they are empty when I try to open them. These folders opened fine a couple of days ago. When I check the properties, it shows that there are still files and when I search I can find the files and it says that they are in the proper folder. When I go to the folder by going through Computer...Users... and so on until I get to the videos, they are there, but when I try to go to my videos folder through libraries, they aren't there.

try this--pull power from machine (disconnect from power strip, wall, whatever) wait about 1 minute--plug it back in--turn it on--if prompted choose 'start windows normally'--when fully booted--see if problem is gone
