MP3 audio files have even cut out points

I recently went to listen to a variety of music I had downloaded only to find out that in the closing minute of each track, one second of playback was missing. This was across all the files.

Any ideas as to what is happening? Any assistance is greatly appreciated at this moment in time.

PS: feel free to relocate if in wrong area, my apologies.

My first guess is that it is not the fault of your player or anything on your end, but is rather a defect of one type or another in the source material. I'd be more inclined to believe this if all the problem files came from a single source.

I'd take a look at one of the problem files in an audio editor or maybe analyze the file with any of various mp3 editing/evaluation tools. That may or may not provide clues.

I'd analyze one of them for you if you can upload it to this thread.
