    OneDrive Photo Backup is Sporadic

Using iPhone 4S on IOS 7.1.1

I have OneDrive installed (with latest update) on this iPhone and it sometimes backs up photos I take. Sometimes it takes several days before it detects there are new photos available. Sometimes after detecting new photos (there are currently 17 in the queue dating from late Jan) it does nothing other than say they are available and other times it says it is getting them but they stay in a "waiting" state for days.

I don't understand this behavior. There are currently 17 photos in the "waiting" state and they have been in that state for many days.

I have a good wi-fi connection that works for all the other apps so presumably it works for OneDrive too.

    Suggestions?

    Hi,
I would review the upload setting
See if your uploading/ syncing the original file sizes sounds like you are,
I'm not sure what size ?mb the version 4s creates do you use another camera app or the default ?

You can manually transfer some to your computer and see what mb size they are
    Cheers.

I use the standard default camera app. Photo sizes run from 2-4MB. I am uploading the photos full size (I don't see an option to do otherwise and since this is considered a backup, full-size seems appropriate). I have taken some panoramas that were 8MB and they uploaded to OneDrive just fine. I have over 38GB out of 40GB free on OneDrive. I have the upload in the background option enabled. I do not have the Use Mobile Network option enabled - it is using wi-fi only.

Surprise! One of the new photos uploaded this morning. The other 16 or so are still in the waiting state. As I have been typing this two more photos uploaded.

It's weird -- these photos have been waiting weeks to be uploaded and today they start uploading.

    Hi,
Possibly Onedrive is having issues with the phone being in the locked state if you use that ?
If you have a chance disable the locked state and leave it on and plugged in for power or charging.
    Cheers.

I haven't tried turning of the auto-lock (set for 2 minutes on my phone). Here's an update:
After I sent my last post, all the new photos uploaded to OneDrive. I don't know why - I didn't change anything.

This morning I added 12 new photos to the Camera Roll. Six of the 12 migrated to My Photo Stream (all of them should have migrated) and 4 of those 6 uploaded to OneDrive. There are multiple issues here with My Photo Stream and OneDrive. Grrrrr....

Since then I have changed a OneDrive option to use the mobile network rather than just wi-fi. No results so far.

Later today I will try turning of auto-lock and plug the phone into the power.

Exactly the same problem on iPhone 4

I have the same problem, same setup, iPhone 4s and onedrive.

Photos just upload sporadically, I have 100MB ultrafast internet connection so its not that.

I am beginning to think the Onedrive App is defective. Maybe its not certified for iphone 4s.

It sometimes just freezes, and nothing gets uploaded, at other times it will do a burst of 2 or 3 photos.

    Altogether crappy software.

Dropbox works fine and uploads instantly, but unfortunately its costs money...
