Making a jpeg Read only for others?

I was wondering how to make the date taken section in properties for a jpeg uneditable. Is there a way such that if I send an email with the jpeg to another person, the file would basically be read only for them?

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
    Doubtful :)
Once you send a file it's out of your control
    Cheers.

No way at all. Data can only be controlled as long as trusted people are the only with write access to it. And sending them to someone else gives them full control over the copies, which are always fully modifiable (metadata being the least of the problems, think what something like Photoshop can do to images).

There are proven ways to verify that files weren't modified (not to prevent the modification itself), but I think it's overkill for simple images.

So there is no way to make the date taken in the properties of the image uneditable?

You can put the pics into a Word file and make that read-only.

    Watermark it with the date.
