Check for ideas here but be careful if trying any of the solutions that suggest deleting folders in AppData. Personally I would,'t try without a backup.
album art - Windows Media Player 12 shows wrong cover art when playing - Super User
Maybe try the suggestion here:
LionsPhil's Journal of Occasional Doom - Blocking Windows Media Player's Folder.jpg
Open command prompt in your music folder and try:
attrib -h -s Folder.jpg
attrib -h -s AlbumArtSmall.jpg
del Folder.jpg AlbumArtSmall.jpg

Callender if your trying to rebuild WMP cache you just delete everything under C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Media Player and restart WMP and let it rebuild the library
Well as far as I can work out you can delete those embedded jpgs using a script but as soon as you launch Windows Media Player it seems that it will download them again. See the thread here:
Prevent Windows Media Player Album Art Download - Microsoft Community
Using a small utility on my machine disables what I call suspicious or unwanted microsoft connections and built into that are these WMP tweaks. Like I said though - I don't use WMP!
this might sound crazy...
i right clicked the file.. went to properties... in details i removed all the unwanted information... when applied, i think, this new information is saved as tag...
so.. with this new 'tag', when i opened the file in mp3tag, it didnt show it as bad tag anymore and both mp3tag and tagscan also started showing alum art in the box..
after this i could remove art with mp3tag, tagscan or taghycardia...
i also tried initially by clearing wmp cache... actually it contained all the album arts as jpgs... once i deleted and songs were played again, they started appearing again in the cache...
so.. thanks everyone for spending your time in helping... thanks again...
