Deleting photos in photo gallery also deletes from folder?

I have my pictures and photos there. I move the photos to photo gallery or it imports them automatically. I do not want them in photo gallery so I delete them and that deletes them from the folder in my pictures also.

I do the same thing on my laptop and that does nto happen so I do not understand how to make this stop.

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
Yes deleting a file in wpg deletes it from your computer
I doubt it works any differently on your laptop

Accessing files in wpg is no different than accessing them though windows explorer or win-7 library.

My photo gallery is also an editor. So I can edit photos there. I guess I do not have photo viewer or whatever it is called. I do not have my laptop here to compare.

The only way to remove a folder from wpg is to move the folder to a separate partition or a separate hdd,
Then you can exclude that location inside wpg.

Anything in your win-7 library is read by wpg.

Click Start, click Pictures, right-click a picture file and choose Open with, will show Windows Photo Viewer as a choice to click on. You can set that as the default viewer.
