    Need a good MP3 organizer

    Hi guys!

I have this MP3 library worth >2 Gigs and about 50% of that is kinda having some problems like wrong song name, artist, year etc.

Could you give some recommendations that I can use?

    Thanks

Have you tried Itunes? It's free, and it works.

Winamp is rather good for editing multiple files at once and single files too.

Not iTunes. iTunes is meant for Macs, not PCs, and in my experience, it is slow and confusing. It will also bug you to update and so on every other minute.
If you want to edit the mp3 tags, I can recommend Mp3tag. WMP 12 has a horrible interface for tag editing.

I use Creative Media Source Player/Organiser download here. It came with my Creative mp3 player but it's a free download and easy to use.

MP3 Tag for editing tags and renaming to some extent

MP3 Gain for adjusting perceived volume on playback

Name It Your Way is a fantastic bulk renaming program. It could change a thousand files named like this:

    Elvis - Mystery Train.MP3

    to

    Elvis Presley - Mystery Train.mp3

    in about 2 seconds.

Encspot is a great little app to analyze your mp3 collection and provide details on the encoder used, file size in bytes, bitrate, stereo mode, running time, etc.

MP3 Utility can scan your mp3 directories and identify those files that have faults and may play poorly. It can also print out a text file of all mp3s you have.

MP3 Direct Cut can edit mp3s, cut off noisy tails, noisy intros, etc.

Audacity is a fantastic recording/playback/editing application that has all sorts of tools to modify mp3s--fade in, fade out, boost certain frequencies, edit out clicks and pops, reduce tape hiss or groove noise, etc.

Switch is a good application to convert sound files from one format to another.

All of these are free and easily found on the Internet.

X2 for MediaMonkey. Besides organizing your mp3s, it allows you to easily tag them, has a decent player, and can rip your mp3s from CDs.

If all you want to do is tag your mp3s, you don't have very many of them, and you don't want to download any software to do the job, you can tag them directly from within properties.
