Has anyone edited DVD from 8mm Film

I took my moms 8mm film to Costco & had it transferred to DVD's which I now have almost 3 hours of video. The videos are all short & in know particular order. I want to save each video individually in my computers video library so I can put them in some order by guessing what year they are from & also want to be able to send video to relatives of only video that they are in. File format is .vob, has anyone done this? What software editing did you use?

    Short answer "Yes"
I use Corel Video Studio X5 I can import from the DVD and edit. I don't know of a free program that will do this.

Windows Movie Maker should be able to do everything you want. I have combined movie files and rearranged segments and added voice tracks and/or music tracks. There are plenty of video tutorials online for just about all of the things it does, all for free.
    Have fun.
