    Gifs in Windows Photo Viewer

I know this has been asked before, I even tried the program in this thread. However, it just gives this error:

Can someone help me fix it or let me know of a codec or something to make WPV show animated GIFs?

Windows 7 Windows Live Photo Gallery will not play gifs.
You can use IrfanView and play gifs.
    Hope that helps.

The easiest to play Gifs is the Internet Explorer

I tried IrfanView, but I don't like the interface, I prefer that of Windows Photo Viewer.

I know it was by default, but it is an inconvenience especially when you have multiple GIFs in one folder.

That is your option but I've used IrfanView successfully for a long time when it would play movies
I couldn't get other viewers (at the time) to play. The interface was extremely simple (for me anyway).
IrfanView and WPV are two beasts of a totally different color. But IRV plays animations.
Good luck and Merry Christmas. (day after tomorrow anyway.)
