How to repair pictures and videos ?

    Hey guys,

I have mistakenly deleted files with folders and when I recovered it I cant view them. Is there any way to repair them ?

Exactly what was the process and program[s] used to recover the recovered folders and files? Reason for asking: I'm not sure those files were recovered, made whole, like they were before they were deleted. If indeed they were made whole, one probably has to rename them to their respective original extension[s] they had before they were deleted.

Its Recuva and EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard.

If it is the filetype extension that is wrong, just put in the correct filetype. You will get a warning which you can ignore. See whether that works.

If any appreciable length of time passed between deleting the files and using Recuva or EaseUS Data Recovery, if the files were fragmented/sprayed all over the drive, other data may have overwritten some of the drive sectors where some of the data was held, ruining the chances of successful complete file recovery. It can take just minutes for this to happen.

In my experience, once a JPEG goes bad it stays bad. If you have no other source or backup, you are likely stuck. They either display properly or they don't.

There might be heroic means to save a picture file, but I don't know what it would be.

Videos, you might have a better chance, if you have sophisticated editing software.

Just my experience---I've never delved deeply into the topic. I have seen good video files and good JPEGs go bad for no apparent reason and ultimately gave up on any idea of repair.

Put it this way. I've deleted and tried Recuva to get back JPEG image files on all four drives on my machine. The one place that Recuva consistently fails to work is on my C:\ boot drive. There's just too much reading and writing activity on it. On storage drives, I have at least a decent chance of image recovery. But never on C:\.

I have never saved the files on C Drive. It was and external drive from past 5 years.
