How Do I Display MP3 File Duration In Explorer?

I've selected it in view - choose details, but all I get is a column with "duration" at the top and nothing listed underneath.

I know these mp3s are fine as I've been using them on my old machine running xp

Now running Windows7 premium on a new machine. All mp3s were transferred from a usb external hard drive on to my new machine

    Thanks

    Hi

Welcome to SF - try using 'length' rather than 'duration' - works for me and 'duration' is same for me i.e. missing - it probably relates to files other than mp3's.

    :)

    Then what is 'duration' for?

My experience is different. Windows 7 Pro, SP1. Explorer will not show length (or duration) in either details or content format UNLESS THE FILE IS ON A WINDOWS XP MACHINE. Yes, I can take a file on Win7, copy or move it to a WinXP machine, and then the length column will populate for that file. So I am still looking for a solution to this problem
