Blu-ray & Windows 7

Hello dudes.
I have an laptop Sony VAIO VGN-AW310J, with Nvidia 9600M GT grapchics card.
I'm using Windows 7 64 bits (Ultimate), and i'm not being able to play blu-ray discs.

If i try trough Windows Media Player, it says the disc has been produced in a format it doesn't know.
If i try trough CyberLink, it says incompatible graphics driver.

Well, i found out my driver was really old.
The problem is, windows wasn't allowing to install the new version one (from nvidia's site) and was picking up a driver from windows update (driver from 2008).
Well, got a modded inf and installed the driver.

Now the CyberLink BD Advisor says my driver isn't compatible (With the old driver it said it was all compatible(Why not, its a windows driver, huh)).

Well, my question is, what can i do in order to play the blu-ray discs ?
I'm a Computer repair technician and this problem is really fuc***** with me.
My costumer is getting annoyned and if i don't fix this i'm gonna have to install Windows XP.
It'll be a waste of power to install XP on this laptop. It won't even recognize the 4GB ram

Well, i hope you guys can help me.

windows 7 64-bit

Hey pablobhz i am having the exact same problem with widows media player playing blu-ray discs. I managed to get round it by playing them in HP mediasmart just had to download a new patch for it first. i dont really know but i take it you could download HP mediasmart software from HPs site??or does sony do there own media player software im sure it would support blu-ray,after all they were one of the main backers for blu-ray.
but like your asking does anyone know of a fix for windows media player?

windows 7 Professional 64 Bit

If you root around the net you will find a work around, and it seems rather complex, ad I'm not sure you end up with HD, that will allow Media Classic Player to play blu rays. That's just the player though--don't know about your driver situation.

I know of no open source player that does the trick.

I just got a blu ray drive that came with powerDVD 8 and while it will play a bluray, I still am going to have to pay extra $ to get an upgrade for anything but 2 channel sound.

Sorry that Bluray seems to be one of those few irritating computing problems without a good solution as yet.
