Windows 7: Windows Movie Maker stutters on 4:3 aspect mp4 footage

Windows Movie Maker stutters on 4:3 aspect mp4 footage

Okay, so I recently switched from using Fraps to OBS for my recordings, as the quality is still good and WMM doesn't freak out on the input file. Well, I had just edited some 16:9 with NO problem, but when I imported some 4:3 aspect footage, WMM stutters during editing playback and WMM even lags a bit when choosing options like captions or cuts.

I had stopped using Fraps for this very reason as it made editing a chore and I didn't mind that the OBS mp4 files took a bit to load. But when I load the 4:3 aspect footage, it doesn't load it like normal and just takes a while to load the audio. I am not sure what is going on.
