Tablet to control WMP 12 Win7 64 bit Home PRemium

This is probably a little off the beaten path on this forum but figure at least its a place to start. I was given a new ATT Trek II HD tablet and was wondering if there was a way I could use it to control my WMP 12 wireless and be able to control the volume and switch song tracks?

I have a older Dell Studio 540 w/o wifi but do have USB bluetooth installed on it. What I have is old analog stereo system hooked up thought the headphone out on the PC and thought the RCA AUX in jacks on the preamp this does sound quite good. What I would like to have is some control of the volume at least and even better be able to switch the music tracks.

So I'm thinking that I would just turn on the bluetooth on the tablet and pair it to the pc?

Any help would be great and if this is the wrong area to post please send me in the right direction
