MC does not record TV programs

Media Center does not record programs. I used it for about 6 wks with no problems. Now it does not record. I tried turning it off and running setup again. That worked for 1 day and it quit recording again. I tried the routine given here somewhere of going to the cmd window and turning the servers off and on. That did not work.

I have windows 7, service pack 1. I do not use this computer for anything else. Plenty of room on hard disk.

Are you recording OTA (Over The Air) or cable? What kind of tuner(s) are you using? Some more information on your hardware and software would make it easier for someone to help you.

I also noticed that you aren't running an antivirus. You really should be!

You are possibly better off to use the Hauppauge win-tv program instead of M/C. I have used the same setup for the better part of 8 years both OTA and cable up to I think somewhere around chnl 120. Have heard that M$ updates are too likely to screw up M/C.

Curious. I'm able to record OTA with Media Center just fine (my tuners are SiliconDust HomeRunHD).

Like I said before. It worked fine for a few weeks.
I found the Windows media center services turned off and turned them on again yesterday with no help.
I found an article about labeling the files .old to restart them but could not figure out how to do that.

Thanks, that was going to be my next step, but I am sure tired of fooling with this so haven't done it.
