    Ghost files??

    Hey everyone,
Say I have a folder on my cpu desktop with all of my old music in it..when you right click and view properties it shows there being dozens of songs and MB worth of material in this folder. Yet when I open the folder...it's empty... I tried "show hidden files" and still nothing...any legit solutions?

The folder was a collection of my music that I dragged from an MP3 player that had the same issue..

    Thanks

Try booting with a Linux Live DVD, and looking at the contents of your folder from within Linux. Sometimes Linux will see things that Windows can't see.

To create a Linux Live DVD, go to one of the Linux sites and download the ISO file for installing Linux. Then create a bootable DVD from the ISO file. Then boot to the DVD. Nothing will be installed to your hard drive unless you specifically tell it to.

Now, from within Linux, look at the contents of the folder, to see if the MP3s are in there. If so, copy them to an external drive.

To get back into Windows, remove the DVD, then shutdown and restart the computer.

My preferred version of Linux is Linux Mint. You can get the ISO here:
