Convert audio file (.mp3) to text

    Hi folks!! :)

    Would appreciate some help.

Have an audio file (.mp3, sent to me by a friend), that would like to transcribe to text using YouTube.

Read that using FFMPEG will help convert the .mp3 file to .mp4, and the .mp4 can be uploaded to youtube.com/upload (not sure if this is correct)

Installed FFMPEG, however, every time the following is used 'ffmpeg -i 180123_001.mp3 180123.mp4', it shows: No such file or directory. The file is on the Desktop!

Have no clue of what to do at this point.

I cannot transcribe using my voice, since it is not recognized in any program like Google Docs/Voice Typing. Had radiation therapy, and my voice is hard to understand.

Any thoughts as to how I could get the .mp3 audio file converted to text using FFMpeg or anything else?

Thanks very much for your assistance.

Disclaimer: I've never used either of these products myself.

    Here's something that looks interesting:

    https://www.voicebase.com/transcription/

It's not free; but in my view if you want good, accurate results you'll need to pay something, because it takes a lot of effort to get accuracy.

    Here is another product:

I got the above information from https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-be...emos-and-music

    mrjimphelps,

    Thanks for the information.

Will go through and see if there is a program that does not need my voice to work.
There are some that I have not come across before.

    Have a great week!!

    mrjimphelps,

Just want to provide an update on your suggestion.

VoiceBase is an excellent program. There is no need to speak, the transcription is done expeditiously, and the price is great.

Thank you for pointing it out.

    Happy camper!!

    Have a great weekend!!

I'm glad to know that VoiceBase works well for you. I will have to remember that in case I ever need that kind of program.
