Windows Media Player Privacy Settings Changed After Windows Update

In addition to WMP no longer finding album info, I noticed that after the last Windows update, my WMP privacy setting was altered. My setting for the "Customer Experience Improvement Program" was not to participate and I kept that box was unchecked. Now, I see it was checked! Over the years, I have noticed that the shortcut for the WMP disappears and I have to recopy it to the desktop each time, perhaps there is a connection.

Did you manage to find a solution to this?
I know it is a last resort, but did you try re-installing WMP?

    I hope this helps!
