Windows Media Player Has My Music All Messed Up

    Jello,

Can anyone tell me how to fix the error where Windows Media Player will not connect to the internet to pull up the albums info. Or is there a better alternative music only player that will not keep messing up my music folders?

    See Attached Picture.

Thank You Very Much My Friends,

    Space Cowboy

I have used VLC for years!

Here are just a few of the reasons why VLC is so good as a media player.
    • It is open source [the actual code can be examined closely for any tracking etc, of which there is none].
    • It has been in development for many years [1997] and is therefore stable.
    • It is still actively being developed.
    • It works with internal codecs, so there is no need to download any additional codecs/packages.
    • It plays almost everything passed to it [both Audio and Video wise].
    • It works on many platforms [you can use the same controls on your computer, smartphone, iPhone etc].
    • It also allows you to stream video around your LAN [or even the Internet].
    • Best of all, it is FREE.
VLC Player for Windows => VLC Player. It pretty much plays anything you throw at it.

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks Paul,

I have tried VLC 64 bit Portable but still prefer Windows Media Player. I think I may have blocked a file or tw8 with my firewall software that I'm still learning about. It's Called "Windows Firewall Control" but even before trying to learn this Freeware program I ran into the same issue. To make matters worse I just got out of another month in the hospital and lost my glasses.

Maybe reinstalling windows ultimare is due. I am still having difficulty renembering my passwords. Thanks to this built in spell checker I can cottect most spelling errors,

    Thanks Again,

Windows firewall control is made for advanced users. If you don't know what your doing with it please uninstall it. I would suggest SM player for the music. Paul's suggestion is my backup.

    Thanks billmcct,

I have tried both SM Player & VLC x64 Portable but I still like Windows Media Player & Center. I reset the firewall and want to teach myself exactly how it works, I am a advanced user but still get stuck once in awhile.

    I appreciate your suggestions!

    Thanks Again,
    Spacey
