    Looking for Webcam Software

I have an inexpensive web camera that I use in Skype. I can't adjust the zoom level in Skype so I was wondering if I could get other software and/or drivers to do this. Would portable software, if available, work for this? Device Manager didn't find any driver updates for the camera.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

You could give YAWCAM a try (Yet Another Webcam Software) at Yawcam - Yet Another Webcam Software

It works with most cameras I've tried and allows any features of the camera to be used

By the Way it's totally free

Thanks very much for the Yawcam recommendation. I loaded it (for some reason the portable version wouldn't work (I prefer portable vs installed)), and it is nice software, but it didn't allow me to use the zoom option, either within Yawcam or Skype.

I'm guessing the issue is with my camera, which is very low end.

Any recommendations for a good, reasonably priced webcam that does allow zooming and other mods?

The basic use of a webcam does not really require zoom so you will only find this function in the higher end (and price) units.

This when you look at The main players, Logitech and Microsoft can go up to in excess of $1000 which is far from affordable for anyone other than businesses.

A selection of the best available

There may be something with zoom in a range affordable for yourself otherwise you may need to look at the Chinese & Korean more affordable units but these do have the issue of build quality

My camera looks exactly like the Fosmon USB 6 LED webcam, it even has ZOOM on the front. The reason I'm looking to be able to zoom is that I need to zoom out from what is being shown.

Since it has ZOOM on it, I'm guessing that with the right driver(s) and/or software I would be able to zoom out. I've done searches for Fosmon drivers but no luck in getting any to work.

    Thanks again for any help.
