Windows Media Player needed - CallandarDalChina level geek-hack needed

Windows Media Player needed - Callandar / DalChina level geek-hack needed.
Have tried all previous MSIs from Microsoft and their current MSIs, none will install, all install fail very early on. Need a Callendar / DalChina level solution, a geek-created install process and appropriate install EXE or ZIP to force my Windows 7 Professional, fully licensed from day one, to accept Windows Media Player.

Long ago, I completely uninstalled it, later, I found out that Cyberlink products only look for WMP. I tried many old and new MS WMP MSIs, all quit very early on.
I have a few ideas: Do you know the paths and file names for both 64 and 32 bit WMP EXEs?
Maybe I can create those paths, copy VLC into said paths, rename VLC to whatever the WMP EXEs are named -- hopefully fooling Cyberlink? Sector editing Cyberlink may only work untul any future update or install? I would much rather geek-install WMP.

One way is to run a repair install. Then run Simplix after to install the updates properly.

Otherwise, I will have a look and see if I can find anything to install wmp.

What, where is Simlix? I have known good images, can experiment :)

Windows Media Player is not a program, it is a feature. You can turn on this feature with
    dism /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:WindowsMediaPlayer
When executing this command, DISM will look at the default location for the WMP installation files.
The next bit works on WIndows 10, I suppose it works on Windows 7:
If the installation is broken, you can use /source, or multiple /source arguments, to point to known good copies of the installation files. You can use /Source to point to mounted WIM files or SXS directories.

Is there a work around? My windows feature on/off board does not appear at all.

Wait, if that is a dosbox command-line, I will try that tonight.
