Need to reenable windows rich media player preview for MP3 files

I can preview docs, xls, pdf, MP4s. everything except MP3 files. I don't know what software install caused this.
Anyone have any ideas how I can fix this?

It took a Repair Install for my Windows 7 to get Windows Media Player working again, it is a service, not a program. I do not know any other way -- maybe others far wiser than I can advise on getting WMP active again.

I fixed it myself by going to windows features. Uninstall Media Player then reboot.
After reboot, add windows media player again and go to file explorer, select an MP3 file and see if the media player with play button is available. Click "play" and it works again.

Good job, kmanmike! I did forgot to mention in my earlier post that both Windows Media Player and Windows Features services were completely disabled in my two laptops' Windows 7. That's why I had to go via Repair Install on both, and on both, WMP and WF came back, fully enabled.
