    I have always wondered...

If there is a way to change the preview that shows on windows media clips, for example, i have a pile of .avi movies and they all show a single frame of the movie in the icon, i guess it makes easier to tell what movie it is. The problem is that it seems it uses a frame quite early in the movie, so early hat its almost always showing the dreamworks/roadshow etc instead of a frame of the actual movie. Its really strange, of the hundreds of movies i have, i would say at least 80% are this way. So its either a random frame from early in the movie, or its a set frame number that it shows, im not exactly sure, but even if there is a way to just change the number of what frame is chosen and have it be applied to all wmp files would be useful, id move it a tad further up! Anyone know if there is anything like this, im almost thinking of going to the trouble to make custom icons of DVD covers for all the movies... i can get a bit obsessive about my movies.

    Lisa hi and welcome

I dont think a specific frame number is going to be possible. If one dvd has a one minue intro and another a minute and a half how would decide what frame number? I suspect there is a registry hack to make the preview take say a 3minutes after the opening but it is going to be a bear to figure out. You could also make the preview static and put a jpg or gif in the folder for the preview to pick up. that might work.

We would need a bunch more info to figure it out hough

Hope this points you in the right direction.
