Usually that just means the computer has discrete graphics, i.e on board graphics -- a GPU (Graphics Processor Unit). It help to know what model laptop you have there.

Doesnt all pc's have a GPU ? But its a acer aspire 7551 series model ms2310. I know its GPU Is Mobility Radeon HD 5000 after looking in diagx or something like that, but does that mean it has 3D aswell then ? From what you are saying thats what it sounds like ?

Ultimately, you will sell that particular laptop for as good as your market it!

If you want to know more, let me know.

Without going into too much detail, whatever GadgetValue.com says your laptop to be worth is irrelevant.

In your situation the best thing you can do if you want to get the most money out of your laptop is to market it well.

Let's presume you are going to sell your laptop on eBay, the well know and popular online marketplace.

There are likely hundreds, if not thousands of laptops for sale at any time in any country on eBay. This might sound obvious, but it is very apparent to me a lot of sellers do not seem to realise the importance of this. There is nobody specifically searching for the Acer Aspire 755, or Toshiba Satellite 36275, etc. etc, why? Simply put, they're not desirable models, for a plethora of reasons that are not worth divulging for the point I am trying to make, because regardless of whether or not someone is searching for your laptop, what's to make them buy YOUR laptop over someone selling another (or even identical) laptop? (You might be surprised to hear it is not price... usually.)

But back to what I was saying, which is nobody is looking for your laptop. To cut this post short and bring it to some meaningful conclusion, what they ARE looking for are standout "features"/details. I won't go into what standout features as there are many people look for (OS is one), but to provide some help to you, in your case, your laptop has two things going for it, 1. It has a large 17" screen, and 2. Even though it is certainly not good, it does have an ATI Radeon graphics chip. You want to make put this right at the beginning of your listing title on eBay. And last, TAKE GOOD PICTURES. Buyers will always look at the picture first before reading the title next. You can show one thing off to potential buyers without saying anything, which is simply have the default Windows background to let people know the OS, or, a simply ATI/Nvidia background can draw people in. Most people can tell what operating system is running on the laptop if they have been looking at any others just from the background wallpaper. The primary picture must not be dark as to hide any details, must not have anything in the background to draw eyes other than the laptop itself [[ i.e. reflections on the screen (yourself, ceiling light, etc), don't have the laptop showing something "complicated" (i.e. BBC website homepage) ]].

I hope this is of some help/sense to you. If not, feel free to entirely ignore! :)

[[ Really, I am inclined to say GadgetValue.com is not of much use for people looking to sell their devices, more if anything for insurance purposes. They won't buy devices off you, and they don't seem to sell them either. Not meaning to state the obvious and make myself seem a fountain of wisdom ( am certainly not ) You would be much better off at looking what devices similar to your devices go for on average on eBay (iPhones good example). or in retailers who sell used good (CeX etc) ]]

Everything you are saying makes perfect sense, i didnt know that the GPU and the screen was the most important specs of it though, but i'll make sure to ''highlight'' those, thanks for the tip.

I honestly don't know why websites like the one you were using ask such a stupid question. Especially in this day and age. You'll note I said "discrete" meaning onboard and dedicated. That may be what they are wanting to know. Not using the GPU in the CPU its self. Never the less, it shouldn't matter. These websites and their asinine choice of whether the computer has "3D graphics" is irrelevant now-a-days.

If you sell on eBay I'd type the model in and use the advanced search to see what sold recently and for how much.

Your computer has a Mobility Radeon HD 5000 so it's a dedicated GPU. The computer is not using the CPU for graphics.

Usually this is sound advice but in the instance of the OP's laptop, I just have to say it again, it will be sold for as good as it is marketed.

When I first started out selling laptops online I would search the model online and see how much other people had sold them for as you suggest (Or laptops very similiar). It seemed only logical to do that, because it is understandable to want to not feel like you are underselling or overpricing (putting the laptop on for noticeably more than others sold their identical ones for)

Turns out no. As I say earlier price is not a factor here. Literally, you will sell it for as good as your market it for and I have found this time and time again if you market laptops properly (i.e. you get the standout features in the title, big screen size, nvidia/ati GPU, etc. etc.), you'll get good money for them - always more than what other people sell the exact same model for on average, even better conditions ones. Buyers will not spend time looking at other listings over yours if your markets the item well, even though really that would be the sensible thing to do to save money.

Ah okay, how come 3D graphics is irrelevant these days ? I dont know that much about GPU's except that there is onboard and dedicated like you said yourself, where as onboard is usually on low end pc's. I tryed googling the pc, because thats what i usually do when i sell something, to see what price its going for and then i usually put it a little lower than what its going for, so what im selling is more interesting than what other people are selling, but i searched on both google, ebay and Amazon, but its such an old pc, thats its impossible to find one with the exact same specs, the closest i got to was this: https://www.shpock.com/en-gb/i/YK6CRHYfMS3QOF_3/acer-aspire-7551g , so because of that i started using online calculators and im getting alot of different prices, like this one, but then all the way down to 43 USD on gadgetvalue.com, but i'll try a little under the price from shpock to begin with and hopefully it will sell, otherwise im gonna end selling it for atleast 40 USD in the end.

I will market it as you said, but then put it around 20 USD lower than here acer aspire 7551g in ME2 Strood for lb155.00 for sale | Shpock and then use this link as a reference for as how much its going for. Unless you think i can put it for more than this one ? Obviously with marketing it the right way.
