Windows photo viewer won't show my pictures

I get a message that says that windows photo viewer can't display this picture, because there might not be enough memory available. Close some programs that you aren't using, or free some hard disk space if it's almost full, and try again.

It only says that with some of pictures that i have taken though, why is that?

Yeah, I've gotten that in the past. I think it's just an image compatibility thing with Windows. Much like how one might discover Window Media Player can't play certain files. I use IrfanView for exotic pictures like that. Just make sure that if you install IrfanView you don't allow it to be the main image handler for jpgs or whatever you want Windows photo and fax viewer to be the default handler for. IrfanView is great for gif's too. In Windows XP Windows photo and fax viewer was able to view gif's perfectly fine. In Windows 7 that's now set to IE which in my opinion is a load of crap.

IrfanView is to images as VLC is to audio and video...

I don't to use another program. They were jpg so windows photo viewer supports it. If you have a solution, please post it.

There is no solution. It's not the file size that's the problem, it's the pixel size of the image. There is an internal upper in limit in Windows 7's Photo Viewer of how large an image area it can handle no matter how much free memory you have. The only solution would be to shrink your image size. This limit was removed in the Photo Viewer that comes with Windows 10.

When i sent the files to my computer with my phone, it asked me if i wanted the actual size of the images or a large size of the images. Could this be the cause?

@F22simpilot Yes, i do not wish to use another program than windows photo viewer, i want to fix the problems with it.

It seems like this problem doesn't occour if i send my pictures with bluetooth? They are in a 4160x3120 resolution if i send them with bluetooth.
