WMP 12 fails to apply album art from "Find album info" feature

After tinkering with it for a while, I finally managed to get Windows Media Player 12 back online and revive its "Find album info" feature. However, I'm still facing one notable issue: For some reason, WMP can find the album information and update it, but it fails to do so with the album art. Usually when I select "Find album info", it gives me the choice of multiple different releases to choose from (although sometimes it only gives me one option). Some of these releases have album art, and I believe WMP is meant to apply the album art along with the album info when a release is selected from the list given.

Another issue which may or may not be related: Some of the audio files from the albums I have downloaded appear to have the album art within the metadata of the file itself, however WMP doesn't apply the album art if it's supposed to. I believe the art is "embedded" within the audio files because the album art appears in Windows explorer but not in Windows Media Player.
