    Error with WMP


    i'm getting this error playing avi files, mp3 etc with WMP


      My Computer

    You could try this;

    >>Right click "Computer"
    >>Click "Manage"
    >>Under the "System Tools" section, Double click "Local Users and Groups"
    >>Click "Groups"
    >>Right click "Administrators"
    >>Click "Add to group..."
    >>Click "Add"
    >>Click "Advanced"
    >>Click "Find Now"
    >>Double click "Local Service"
    >>Click "Ok"
    >>"NT Authority\Local Service" should show up in the list now
    >>Click "Ok"
    >>Close Computer Management and reboot.

    i tried that, it worked for the first avi, then i tried an mp3 & another avi and it didn't work


    is there a way to reinstall WMP?

    Sure is! :)

    Go to control panel > programs > turn windwos features on or off.
    Find media features.

    Error with WMP-1.png

    Then re-check & reboot.

    thanks again,

    i'm doing a sfc /scannow, as i searched on here and found a guy mentioning to do this.

    i'll try your suggestion after this has finished

    sorry, it didn't work, think i'll either use system restore, or load an acronis image
