Tagging FLAC files - any decent TAG editor for W7

    Hi all

Ripping CD's to FLAC is no problem using WINAMP on W7 but on the rare (very rare) occasions when I can't find the track / album data on GRACENOTE / FREEDB is there any way to tag the tracks manually with some sort of "Tag editor" -- I "Think" Flac can handle ID3 - but unlike most here "Digital Music" isn't my "thing" -- I've only really "Discovered" you don't need a CD player or even a CD to play music.

Also once I've got the Tags --any program to scan the music files to extract the data into say "CSV" format that I can then load into an EXCEL Spreadsheet or a Database (Access / MySQL etc).

I don't want to convert anything to MP3 -- I like having the original music in a "Lossless" format -- FLAC is fine.

    Cheers

    Hi Jimbo,

Mediamonkey has full flac tag support including things like composer and the like.

it also supports the export of track lists in HTML, XML, CSV, & Excel formats

This is brilliant prgram for editing media file tags "Tag & Rename". I have been using it for years and runs on W7 no problems. I actually paid for this and it is supported well by the author. You can edit single tracks, multiple tracks, multimple albums etc..... the feature list is long & vast....

I've been changing my collection over to .flac from MP3

I have just been using media monkey to tag everything and so far no issues at all.

Album Art, Lyrics, everything seems to be working just fine.

Another vote for MP3TAG. Works with with FLAC and MP3 files. I've started ripping to FLAC recently using Easy Audio Copy (EAC) and where I need to adjust tags, MP3TAG does the job.

MP3TAG is my editor of choice. It is very easy to use and has a lot of handy features. Also a big shout out goes to Foobar2000 not just a brilliant audio player a very capable tagger it is too :)

Winamp has it's own tag editor, lol.
Insert a CD, list the tracks, CTRL+A -> right click -> Edit CD info :P
