    No, it doesn't... **** off *****

This is a long shot, and it's probably something that shouldn't be done, but there's always the Media feature pack that's originally for N and KN versions of Windows 7 that don't include WMP12. Please consider that, in case that you can't fix this issue and you REALLY need WMP12, you will be forced to reinstall Win7, if you're willing to take a chance, try it. Backup first!

Maybe you can check with Event Viewer
Right Click on Computer > Manage > Windows Logs > Application and check if you see any errors

I have a Tool called Fix WMP Utility i have attached it you might wanna try it

WMP Utility is freeware portable app to re-registers all the concerned Windows Media dll files required for the smooth functioning of Windows Media Player. It will re-register over 40 dll files required for for the smooth functioning of WMP.

    FixWMP.zip

If that also didn't work then Remove WMP from Program Features then run the CCleaner

    Then

    1, Click on Start
2, Type CMD then right click Run as Administrator
    3, Type in SFC /SCANNOW
4, Then Reboot the system reinstall WMP
5, Run the Fix WMP Utility then open WMP see that works

    Hope that helps

ok! with fix wmp the wmp now starts, but the ebedded explorer wma and wmv files are still not working the setup file in wmp folder is not working and i still cant remove from windows features panel the wmp to reinstall it to reset.

i assume all files are installed and now dll are registered so it works, but some other parties are not correctly registered and first of all the setup file is corrupted so i got still all this problem.

still lokking forward for a solution

I guess the the only options you could try would be to use Your Uninstaller it was recommended from one of my friend who works in Microsoft support or try a Repair install

    Hi and welcome

We have thrown everything but the kitchen sink at this and may even be able to fix this problem but you will have so much junk in the system that we have no way of knowing what other effects will be.

    On to the problem
Have you tried removing the WMV components in safe boot (F8)
If registration is the problem that should help

Has anyone asked you if you have a backup that we could restore from?
Anyone ask if you have a win 7 dvd to do a repair install from?

hello, thank you both but i dont want to make a repair install, cause i dont have enopugh space, i should delete a lot of data and modify my partition, in addiction to this im looking to fix the single problem withoout reverting the full system.

ive tried to restore using the system restore points, but the wmp installar should have been saved in the restore system, and anyway i dont have other backup or dvd backup.

to zigzag yes ive already tried in safe way, and about the junk, ive very few programs installed, just whats needed, i use a lot of portable software and just the lighter.

your uninstaller doesnt have the wmp in installed program list, i can just use the context menu option uninstall with your uninstaller rigth clicking the wmp file but it show a blank error dialog with the red cross and just the ok button. so i assume it doesnt work

im shure somebody can help me to fix it..
