    Video Converters??

Hi I really need a quick video converter that converts FLV to DIVX/3GP. It MUST be able to do that conversion else it is off no use to me.
Apart from it being able to do that I need it to be extrmely fast. If anybody could give me some ideas of programs that match these that would be perfect.

Thanks for all your help and I know these forums wont let me down. (REP will be given).

All To Avi can convert flv (and a lot more) to divx5.0. xvid, mpeg4 etc.
It's free (open source), pretty easy to use, and fast

I would suggest you to use HANDBRAKE (HandBrake).
It uses H.264 or meg4 codec to convert any video to avi, mkv or mp4. Doesnot compromise with audio or video quality at all. Really the best way to convert videos.

AVS video converter is also very good one, does not compromise with quality, too. but it is not free to use like handbrake.

If you think, you may try another GUI like AutoGK, VirtualDubMod, etc that uses H.264 codec.

Imtoo video converter is also a good converter, provides a lot of formats to choose between, but I found it (or any other) cannot do a lossless encoding.

the only way to keep quality unaffected, is to extract the RAW video/audio stream and re-mux it into another container., which takes just a few seconds.

Anytime anything goes through the encoding process, (x264,xvid whatever) theres always a quality loss. its just the nature of the beast.

You can try SUPER 2010. It converts almost every format to every format. It's sometimes buggy and not aims to quality but... it saves sometimes when I needed simplicity and the encoding time was crucial.

    Hope it helps you. :)

Buy a desktop computer, an i7 CPU, 600GB of RAM and 20 video cards in SLI mode, then it will be extremely fast -_-

Only one i7? With a setup like that, you'd think at least two or three i7's

Actually, you're right, he did say extremely fast... Even I didn't ask these question when I was a n00b.

"I'll take a cluster of 20 VX6060 blades thanks... keep the change!" lol

"With two independently implemented Intel Core i7 processing nodes linked to an Ethernet and PCIe infrastructure, the Kontron VPX blade VX6060 is a building block for intensive parallel computing workloads where a cluster of Kontron VX6060s can be used in full mesh VPX or switched OpenVPX environments, says a company representative."
