Windows 7: recognize faces on pics

Win 7
recognize faces on pics

hello guys, my friend got a macbook and it has a real nice feature:

he takes a pic of some guy, marks his face, call it "thomas" and then he goes to search, types in "thomas" and all the photos with thomas on it will be shown.

Is this also possible on win7?

I tried windows live photo viewer but its not the same. You have to tag the face on every pic and then u can search it. You will only find pics where you tagged the face on. So if you have 1000pics with 500 "thomas" on it, you need to tag 500 pics with "thomas" first to find them all. if you only tag 300, you will only find 300. But on the macbook you actually only tag that face once (propably twice if its taken in a bad quality or angle) and it will already find all the 500 photos.

Windows 7 x64 Ultimate

Hi, I know 2 software programs that does that. 1 is AcdSee Photo Manager and the other is Picasa from Google. Picasa 3: Free download from Google

AcdSee is not free, Picasa is free. Hope one of them will help you

The option to recognize the faces are called name tags. From my experience with the name tags, its a hit and miss deal. So, its not built into Windows, and Ive never used a Mac so I dont know if its built into their OS or not.
