Windows Media Player 12 Sucks Eggs

Because WMP 12 sucks so badly; does anyone have another media player that they like better. Boy did MS screw up royally this time.

WMP 12 works perfectly fine here for every single file/format I throw at it.

Exactly what do you find so wrong with it?

Windows media player 12 is sooooo awesome !1!
BTW SHARK YOUR CODEC PACK IS AMAZING YOU ARE SOOO AWESOME
jbereny: Exactly what kind of issue are you having? If it is a corrupt program, you can go to start menu type in troubleshoot and use the windows media player troubleshooting packs. Windows media player uses MUCh less memory than other players. I used VCL and it causes the video t take around 100 mb of ram while in media player, it only takes around 40. (maybe due to media foundation or something)
    Post what problem you have

There is a whole selection under Audio and Video here: FileHippo.com - Download Free Software But I have to agree with the others, WMP works perfectly. I sometimes use VLC too.

I want it to be able to have the same layout options on the player as WMP 11. For instance, pick "Corporate" skin in your skin choices and choose the equalizer enhancement option. Bingo! It doesn't work! It will not come up or anything else for that matter under "Enhancements". Also, you can not pin the equalizer to the "Now Playing" player. It's a separate window. Who the heck programmed this inadequacy?

Just use winamp, it plays all of my files at least with sharks pack installed, and it has a great interface and is very customizable and has plugin support, also it takes up very little resources

WMP12, with Shark007's codec package , will play any file I have tried to play on it.

But I prefer MediaMonkey for my music files, because not only is it easier to do some things with it than with WMP12 (for example, clear its library or set which folders to monitor), but it can do other things that WMP12 can't do, such as rip a CD to something besides MP3 or WMA, transcode amongst many different file types, and aggregate podcasts.

WMP12 does have better visualizations out-of-the-box though, if you're into that sort of thing. And I watch my DVD's with it.

Sorry, can't help you, your post is most unhelpful and noninformative. There's a pretty good media player out there I would recommend: WMP13. It's due out soon. Just wait a little.

Yeah wmp 12 sucks. I used to use wmp 11 and hate the fact you cant downgrade back to it as wmp 12 is just awful.

I now use foobar2000 for my music along with media player classic which iv used for videos for a long time. Try them and see if you like them.

Forgive please if it is not kosher to post a website, but this page <http://cambridgecitycoc.org.uk/sermon.htm> has a listen of sermons which won't play on my Acer Aspire 5740 with I3 M330 processor with Windows 7 x64.
Won't play it in IE8 or Google Chrome. You said earlier that the .wmv format is native to WMP. So any ideas why I'm not able to play. I went into file association to make sure .wmv was played by WMP. That's good. Baffled.
