Strange double dots when saving an eps in CorelDraw

I have the exact same version of CorelDraw as I had before I switched to a new computer with Windows 7 (X3). I use CorelDraw here at work and have all files in cdr and eps versions. I open a cdr-file, make my changes, save the file and then I export it to eps. There's already an eps-file in the folder, as it was there before, and now I want to replace it. Since using CorelDraw on Windows 7 I have noticed a strange behaviour.

Let's say the original file is namned hello.cdr
In the folder there's also hello.eps (the file I import into my desk-top program)
When I try to export hello.cdr to hello.eps it suggests the file name hello.eps (I always export to eps so that's pre-chosen). But when I open the window again, it's now named hello..eps and the old file is still there! What's happening? If I don't remember to either click on hello.eps or remove the double dots manually before saving, the file that's linked into my dtp-program doesn't get updated.

Lena

Can anybody solve this mystery for me?

It seems to me that this is the standard method for overwriting (replacing) a file -- in the Save As... (or "Export" or whatever) dialog box, click the file you want to overwrite and the filename field will populate with that file's name. Then click Save/Export/OK and it will likely ask you to confirm overwrite. Confirm, then try opening in your desktop program.

Let me know if that works for you.

Cheers,

Walker,

The way you suggests work, and that's OK when I only have a few eps's in the folder. But sometimes I have 20-50 eps's and they are all named almost the same (variations with just a letter or a number that differs) and the risk is high that I accidentally overwrite the wrong eps. As I have the correct cdr file open, if I just click export it will automatically be exported to the right file name.

I have used Corel for many years and this is the first time this happens. So to me it seems to have to do with me switching to W7, that's the only thing that has changed...
