Windows Essentials Photo Gallery 2012 Graphical Errors

I have been having this issue for a while now and it only appears in Windows Live Photo Gallery and on some fully zoomed out images. I originally thought this was due to a problem with my Windows 7 install but I have recently installed Windows 8.1 on my PC and it is still having the same issue.

I don't believe this is Hardware related as it only occurs on some pictures in this software - They are unaffected in Windows Photo Viewer.

Example: WL Photo Galley - Album on Imgur. All I did between these images was zoom in and out.

Has anyone seen anything like this before?
    Any help appreciated!

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
wpg is finicky about file type other than jpeg's so I gave up on it long ago,
As you noted wpv has no issues :)
Post what the file types are have the issue,

You should also post a question here,
    Windows Essentials - Microsoft Community
About all I can suggest is to use the Fix program option in uninstall a program,
Or use another a real photo editing program even Picasa is better than wpg,
I suppose if asked I would suggest Chasy's Draw it seems to have a good enough viewer and far superior editing capabilities,
The only weird part is getting past the multiple tools windows,
    Cheers.

    Thanks for the quick reply!

It has happened across all image extensions I have used (.jpg, .png, .tiff, .bmp).

I guess the only reason I use WPG is just legacy, it's what I have always used and I like the simplicity of importing images. I do have Picasa installed as well but I haven't ever gotten round to using it. (I tend to use Photoshop for any major work on an image anyway).

    Hi,
Did you try the fix program option ?
Worst thing about wpg is it's thumbnails cache I've found Picasa does it so well I'd give a shot,
The only good thing about wpg is windows movie maker is bundled I call wpg a negative it used to be so much better before they = so called improved it

Yep bad thing about ps is I don't believe it has a simple quick viewer,
I had cc6 in the past but dumped it I got tired of the monthly dues
    Cheers.

Sorry for taking so long to reply, I don't have much time in the evenings.

I have tried the repair option but it hasn't made a difference. As a further attempt, I have reset the Graphics settings to default in AMD Catalyst Control Centre but again, this has made no difference.

Yes I haven't re-installed it in a while mostly because I use wpv to simply view them/ slide show..
And the cache is windows explorer so wpg is really not needed :/

If I need a quick crop ms paint does that just as easily if not easier because it has Save As
None of the wpg versions have save as

Any other edits are made in CorelPaint x6

Before I had cpx6 I'd just use Office picture manager or GIMP/..
