photoshop on windows 7

does anyone know if adobe photoshop elements 7 is compatible with windows 7 or will i need a newer version?

I don't think Photoshop 7 and earlier versions will even install on Windows 7 64 bit because they have 16 bit installers, which will not even run on a 64 bit OS.

I have and like an antique version of Photoshop (version 4). It works fine on Windows 7 32 bit.

Maybe they mean 32bit installations but i know for a fact CS4 works,im using it on my 64bit ultimate.

Yeah--any of the recent version of Photoshop work fine on 64 bit Windows--they have 32 bit installers and will install on a 64 bit OS.

Photoshop 7 and earlier won't. I tested this several months ago on the RC. My version of Photoshop requires 32 bit Windows, and that is the only reason I am not running 64 bit. The other 30 or so apps I use had no issues with 64 bit.

I got Photoshop 7 to install on Windows 7 64bit by using WinInstall LE

It would probably work for Photoshop 6 and many other programs too.

Install Photoshop 7 on Windows 7 64bit

I installed Ements 5 on my 64 bit and it is fine.
