WMP for everything by default. VLC for anything WMP won't play. I use linux to sync my ipods because it can load 40GB of media in about a half hour vs. over an hour using Itunes

Foobar2000 all the way you can customize the layout of the player too suit you're needs. I was a winamp fanboy once but I realized their were better newer media players that were open source :)

MediaMonkey for me. I tried Foobar 2000 once and found it too plain by default and I didn't have the interest in customizing it to look pretty...I don't have an eye for eye candy anyway.

Media Player Won't Play Old CDs
I've got some CDs which I bought in the 80s and they are in excellent condition. However, WMP12 won't play them. They play slow and jittery. Ripping is out of the question too. Newly menufactured CDs are fine. Any ideas?

Why wont the media player or the media centre play MP4's?
Is there a good reason why MS don't equip either the media centre or the media player with the ability to play MP4's. I don't see why they can't play them, and surely it would be in MS's best interest if they could play them.

Neither Media Player nor Media Center Will Play DVD
Hello all. I can't get eithe WMP or MC to play a DVD. I've set the region code. WMP acts like it will play, but then just goes blank, and MC says it cannot play the DVD. These are original discs, not burned copies. I have a custom built system, with 2 graphics cards (GTX 260 and a GT 220) 6 GB of...
