Win32 MPlayer crops screen using directx video output

On my Win 7 system with my resolution set to 1920 x 1080 for display on a 56" TV
with HDMI connection, the normal setting (SMPlayer front end) for video driver is
direct3d which plays all movies I have except for one. This movie will play on an XP
system with driver specified as directx. Full screen is displayed properly with the video
    extending across the entire screen.

This video will not play with the direct3d driver selected on the Win 7 system. If I
try to play the video using the directx driver on this system, I get a portion of the video.
The screen looks cropped with the lower half and part of the right side chopped off.
Audio seems fine. Logs don't reveal anything meaningful to me.

I don't understand why I have this problem on the Win 7 system.

Probably some interference with Aero on Win 7 system. However movie in question did
seem to have some sort of corruption. Frame rate was listed as 90,000 instead of the
usual 23.976. Still doesn't explain how it played on the Win XP system in full screen.
On Win 7 system, DirectX is version 11; XP is version 9.
