Can anyone tell me how to do this?

Okay so a friend of mine had received a video file of a movie. Some how instead of having the normal icon the movie poster image is the actual video file. this is exactly what i want to do.

here's what it looks like. notice the windows arrow is still on the icon. if i double click it, the movie starts.

how the hell do i do this lol??!
