    Windows DVD Maker

Thought I'd give this a try and find that it doesn't recognize my internal burner. I connected an external one and it doesn't like that one either!
I click on DVD burner and the drop down list is blank.

Having no trouble playing disks or DVDs (VLC) and no problem burning with ImgBurn

    Any ideas?

Just a thought... does anything change if you set DVD Maker as default DVD burning app in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\AutoPlay?

Nope! I had it set to 'ask me every time' but I've just set it to DVD Maker and it still doesn't show.
Strange thing is: If I right click on an ISO file and choose Windows Disk Image Burner from the menu ...it shows my DVD drive.

Had the same problem, searched the net, surprisingly couldn't find a solution, only maybees. Finally managed to solve myself, still being not an expert. Try this: 1.Run DVD Maker 2.In the right bottom corner click on Options. 3. Select Compatibility. 4.Uncheck all the filters other than AVI Decompressor (Win 7 original in system32). 5. Press OK.
Worked for me, hope it will work for you.

    gracie423,

Look in the top left hand corner when you enter a section.
