He said it shows up in Libraries, but C:\Users\John\Pictures (the actual Pictures folder) does not exist.

Sorry - I wasn't clear enough. Running FixIt deleted the "My Pictures" entry in Library\Pictures (leaving "Public Pictures" as the only sub-folder). After reporting that and the subsequent loss of access in my previous message I decided to Restore to the pre FixIt state. That recovered access to the jpg's and associated sub-folders. I then did what I should have done in the first place - just moved the image files from the Public area into a newly created folder "Pictures" in "C:\users\John\" That seems to have worked OK. After I've run a full back up tonight I'll run FixIt again to get rid of the (by then) unwanted "My Pictures" subfolder in the Pictures Library (or should I just try deleting it?)

Thanks for all your help guys. Greetings from a damp Sunday afternoon in Hobart. John

Folder C:\Users\John\AppData\ is not visible, so there cannot be anything further down the tree. John
