    Audio Player, Organizer Advice Needed

    Hello everyone,

I need an audio organizer/player that will play MP3s and WAVs, allow me to compile a list of certain songs from various sources (MP3 files, “burned” CDs), then for those songs without or with incorrect ID tag information, I need to edit the “tag”, then save (“export”) all of the audio files associated with my playlist to one folder, and then export a track listing to a file that is editable, such as TXT or RTF. Plus, I would like to have the ability to drag and drop the songs up and down in the “playlist” before finalizing the “compilation”.

Is this too much to ask? I hope not… Please let me know if there is anything out there than can do this for me. I appreciate your informed recommendations.

    Thanks!

I just started using MediaMonkey and I think it covers most of what you want if not all. Looks like it when I go into the program. Definitely worth checking out. I just haven't had time to play with it yet.
Not sure about the TXT or RTF. Can't hurt to check it out. I think I will be making it my audio file playing program though.

I checked out Media Monkey, and it seems like IT wants to do everything automatically. I want total control. Does anyone have experience with this, or another prgram that will do what I want? Thanks!

No prob. I checked it out, it does mp3 and wav. It also has a converter, but don't know how well it functions. Has a whole bunch of tagging features, is highly customizable.

The more I look at it, the more I think it might be for you. And even if not the "COMPLETE" package, you might be able to use it for 90% of what you need and have another program tightening up any slack.

Good luck, let me know what you find.

Oh Ok. Hmm. I will check further into it. And there is someone on here who is an avid fan of it, and they might be able to help you.

I kinda noticed the auto thing, but figured there might be ways to do it yourself.

I have to go back and check previous posts and see what I can dig up for you or some useful advice.

another one that might allow you to edit tags on your own is AIMP2

Don't know for sure, maybe go and check this link, see what it has to offer.

    AIMP - Free Music Player

I am not the biggest audiophile, I basically use my iPod 120gb for listening to tunes and I am not huge into editing, though it would be nice if WMP would bring back the advanced tag editor they used to offer. Anyways, I am still seeing if I can find you other advice.

I found where you can do the tags, in MM, and also you should check into the many add-ons available, including advanced tagging, playlisting, etc.

I will try Media Monkey, but I was wondering if anyone knows of a program that will automatically name your songs based on the song's "signature"?

devildog93 - Thanks for all your input! the AIMP looks more like what I was looking for. I appreciate your follow thru... AIMP says it supports WinAmp Plug-Ins. I wonder if there is one that would retrieve song info based on the song's "signature"... Any ideas?

That's a good question as I am too "informed" on that end of the game.

I'm the guy who has tags like this. tool_track3-XXXX or unknown.........LOL!

I will keep my eyes open and hopefully a MediaMonkey guru will stumble across this thread. They seem to be pretty rabid about the program.

I guess another option, if they are free, is try them both. Check into add-ons, they might help you.

Good luck and maybe EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE bump the thread if it rolls off the list, with no valuable contributions (or create a new one as some of us are too lazy to look back) did he just say that?

You could always check out MM forums as well, see what's hitting or missing with the program, and I'm sure AIMP2 has a forum as well.

Good luck, man, I'm pulling for ya, as I know how hard it is to find the perfect media player.

My perfect media player......is my PS3
