Video Lag - I am running out of solutions :-(

Hey All. I really need some help here because I am running out of solutions.

I have a ATI HD Radeon 4600 with two DVI exit that I use as the following :
- The first one is connected to my IIyama screen (with a VGA adaptater)
- The second one is connected to my Samsung TV 1080p 42 inches with a DVI/VGA cable.

I mainly use my TV to look at 1080p movies I have on my hard drive, typically 7 to 12 Go files.

When I was doing that with XP, that was no problem. With Windows 7 however, I clearly see that the videos are sometimes slowed down, I mean it's like lagging. It's enough to completely waste the interest of the HD. If I read the same vid on my computer screen, that's no problem.

I have tried different players, different codecs pacs, used different ATI drivers (from the most recent ones to older XP versions), I have tried using GameMode, I have tried using Media Player Home Cinema (the one supposed to use the GPU and not the CPU), nothing helped... :-(

From I found on some forums it could be linked to the amount of ressources that Windows 7 is allocating to the player, but I could not really find how to change that in the right way.

Any advise on what I should do to make it work as well as with XP ?

Thanks for your help guys !

If the lag is only being caused with HD content, try CoreAVC and a media player like GOMplayer or KMplayer.

YOu have to deselect the internal filters in those players to use Cores.

It sounds like the problem is caused by the connection between your tv and your computer, not your hard drive, codecs or media player. I'd try switching DVI ports and see if you get the lag still. If that's the case, it's a problem caused by the relationship between the computer and the tv. Different drivers might help, but I've never seen the issue before.

CoreAVC + GOMplayer did help significantely, although I still see some very slight lag sometimes.

Not sure though if it coreAVC which helped or the fact that in GOM settings we can state that windows should give it the highest priority in term of settings ?

Any other opinion ?
