iTunes62Setup.exe is not a Win32 application

    Error: "iTunes64Setup.exe is not a Win32 application"


    No shit.

    I get this error after downloading the current version of iTunes64bit onto my brand new out of the box Toshiba Satellite A505 with Windows 7 64 bit and trying to run it.

    I tried the 32 bit version, and of course the error I get is "This iTunes installer is intended for 32 bit versions of windows..."

    After I got the error the first time on the 64bit download, I deleted it and downloaded it again to make sure it wasn't corrupted. I ran it as administrator and as a regular user and still got the same error.

    Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

    Since it's brand new out of the box, why don't you just pop in your Toshiba Recovery DVD.

    I have a Toshiba Satellite A505. Got it a week ago and it works fine for me. And Toshiba doesn't provide a recovery partition or a restore disc, they expect you to make one yourself when you first turn on the laptop.

    on my girlfriends TOshiba Satellite L500 laptop, although they expect you to make recovery disks, there is a recovery partition, but its buried in the WINRE options, so you spam f8 on startup, then go "repair my computer" then under the other options like "System Restore" and "restore from Image" there is a thing called "Toshiba HDD Recovery" or something like that

    I had a similar error on a 64 bit OS. It turned out the install was bad. Before doing a system recovery, I would uninstall all the software and then try to manually remove any leftover folders and registry entries I could find. Then perform a clean install of the 64 bit software making sure the install completes properly.
