    Can't save animated gifs

Hello. Can anyone tell me how to save animated gifs, like those found on Twitter? If I right click, the only thing that comes up is a list of options, and only one is a *save* option. But if I click *save*, it only saves one frame. Even that don't happen sometimes. Anyway, are there settings in Win7, or do I need some other program? Thanks

Welcome to the forum what software are you using to create animated gifs? You need a few gifs to create the movement it's very simple to go online were there are lots of free gif creating sites you upload your photos and it will create one for you and you can then download

Twitter uses protection to prevent downloading of gif images to protect the rights of the copyright owner

any assistance in breaking this protection would be a breach of Forum Rules [Rule 4]

Hello again. Thanks, I didn't know that. Ok, forget twitter. How do I save animated gifs from other sources that do allow downloading. Like Giphy? Btw, somehow, I was able to save ONE animated gif. Don't have a clue how it happened, but this tells me there is something I'm missing. That is what I'm trying to determine.

    Hi,
I'm sure if it's on twitter you'll find it on google or bing search if your search is detailed enough and you look long enough :)

Pretty much every browser does it similarly. Right-click on the GIF (animated or not) and select Save. Should save the entire GIF.

Not all image viewers can display animated GIFs so make sure the viewer you use supports that.

I'm not trying to steal anything. PERIOD. There are literally millions of gifs that are downloadable at sites like Giphy. But thanks for playing.

I'm sorry, but that isn't the problem. The problem is saving them. Like it says in my opening post. Above. That you didn't read.

Right-click on the GIF (animated or not) and select Save. Should save the entire GIF.
    *bangs head on desk*

Ok, let me try this ONE MORE TIME. In Win 7, if I right click on an animated gif..a field of options comes up. The ONLY option applicable is SAVE IMAGE AS...

When I click on SAVE IMAGE AS, a default directory opens which allows me to browse to where I want to save the file. Then I save it. But here is where the problem is. It only saves ONE FRAME OF THE ANIMATED GIF. Now, I don't know how to make this any clearer. THAT IS THE POINT OF MY THREAD. It only saves ONE FRAME.

What application are you using to view the Gif's, Windows does not have native support for animation in gifs so will just show the first frame, (actually this may be another frame as set when the file is created), File save as... should save the complete file including the animation frames as long as the site allows the downloading of the files, (most do but as stated before some place restrictions on some files).

Try checking the Gif Files by opening them in a browser, (right click Open With ... select a browser like iexplorer.exe and see what happens), or the Irfanview File viewer or similar
