Running a media player in the taskbar possible?

Hey all I am in search of a media player that will run in the task bar or the section next to the clock. It needs to be lightweight but still have the controls visible or at least pop up when changing songs.

I use iTunes now and it's a pain to change to the window every time I want to skip a song or do something else.

    Hello Se7ensins,

Here's an option that you may like.

Windows Media Player - Taskbar Toolbar

    Hope this helps,

I'm not keen on messing around with the registry or system files. Is there an alternative?

You could use a 3rd party program instead, but I do not know of any. I'm sure someone may be able to post one for you here soon though. :)

Using a current SVN release of MPC Homecinema will do it for you. Please know, a default install has all internal codecs turned on so if you want to use the codecs installed on your system, you need to turn off the internal codecs.
