Sure, if you're only working with 10 pictures it isn't a big deal at all but when you're working with hundreds that were taken over a period of time the order becomes extremely important. It also prints out of order when doing a proof sheet so referencing a certain picture number gets extremely confusing. Any idea on how to actually fix the problem?

Have you tried to relate the misplaced file to the file you right-click to get the options to print or whatsoever?... It first happened to me back in Win XP, loading music into media player classic, windows doesn't scramble the order completely, just misplaces the one you use to get the options (usually with the right-click). Try selecting all with the ctrl+a then right-clicking an empty area of the window. I believe it's of use to those who are aware of this and how exactly it works.

I guess this did not get resolved? I have exactly the same problem.
Reason to print in order is to get 4 pictures on the same piece of paper and then obviously have them in order.

OK, choosing the option combine files in Acrobat works.

Same thing happened to me, until, after selecting all, I scrolled back to the first pic, and right clicked on it to select print. It seems to start on where you right click. So, if you have scrolled down to select all, and just right click on one of those, it will start there.

Depending on the number of pictures to print, I make copies of them. If more than 10 but less than 100, I number them as: -

001, 002, etc. Add a 'zero' prefix for more numbers to be printed. Then start clicking and printing as yesitsgary says.

    Works for me.
